i wonder

Just figured out why I'm overweight! The shampoo I use in the shower that runs down my body says "for extra volume and body". I'm going to start using dishwashing liquid. It says "dissolves fat that is otherwise difficult to remove" =)

How to get there from Manila
From Manila, take the South Luzon Expressway all the way to the new South Luzon Toll Way (otherwise known as the Alabang-Calamba-Sto. Tomas Toll Way) then straight ahead to the Star Toll Way entrance. Please be advised that you do not have to exit SLEX because the two highways are now connected. You may choose to take the Lipa Exit or Ibaan Exit.
  1. Drive all the way (approximately 20 km) on the Star Toll Way and turn right to the Lipa Exit. Follow the road towards Lipa City. Drive past La Salle Lipa toward a rotonda where you will see a Mc Donald's on the corner.
  2. Take the road to the right of Mc Donald's (C.M. Recto Ave.). This road will lead you to make a right immediately after. After the first block, make a left to re-enter CM Recto Ave. Traverse C.M. Recto Ave. then turn right at the corner of the Mercury Drug store, which is P. Torres St.
  3. Drive 8.5 km towards Padre Garcia town. Make a left turn at the road sign pointing to Padre Garcia. Turn right after passing the Padre Garcia town market.
  4. Drive 4.5 km and merge with the road coming from Rosario. This road leads all the way to San Juan, which is approximately 19 km. When you see the sign leading to the Batangas Racing Circuit turn left and head straight for San Juan town proper.
  5. After entering San Juan town proper, drive past the Dunkin Donut and Park n’Go stores at your right and head for the Municipal Hall of San Juan. Turn right immediately after the Municipal Hall of San Juan. This is the main road of Laiya. Drive approximately 23.5 kms. (25 minutes).
  6. Drive past Playa Laiya. This is about 3 km away from Acuatico. On the left side will be an empty parking lot immediately after which is a narrow access road to Acuatico. Turn left here. Follow the road. About 100 m from the main road is the Acuatico entrance on your right.

teaching hygiene

besides playing an important role in disease prevention, good hygiene promotes self-esteem, responsibility and price in appearance, rewards that will pay off now in the early years and all throughout adolescence and childhood.  why don't you start making a hygiene a part of your children's lives. sharing some tips below.

make it a habit  - routines are the cornerstone of every child's behavior. Instilled in his mind the rituals

make it fun - a dash of humor and fun can make " cleaning -up " more enjoyable

make it safe - child-friendly props help a lot , a step stool near the sink for him to sand on when washing.
test bath water temperature ,  use gentle to eyes shanpoos and mild soaps

reward with words -compliment them by saying " good job " , " great " " i love it ". praise their efforts

try to teach - explain anything you'd want them to know , a good habit, perhaps, lecturing on the value
of personal hygiene and school life

be a role model - what better way to teach your children than doing it yourself. if you practice good hygiene
habits your children will naturally imitate these positive behaviors, making them thei own

lost days of youth

many teenagers today plunge into early marriages. in a way, it was somehow dissappointing how such kids are sent to schools and taught to live the right way and yet, in a snap throw away their youthful lives.
early marriages usually break apart rather early too. those young hearts need all the time to free, as they are too adventurous to be out in the world. but after some time, a feeeling of suffocation sets within the relatinship and then the marriage fails.
the days of the youth are the most exciting and most cherished. let our youth be the most memorable stage of life. never squander your teenage years.

i can laugh with god today :
please bless my wonderful sons, nieces and nephews to let their youthful years be fruitful.

be an earth angel

at home:

off - that's the magic word. switch off the lights whenever you leave any room. turn off the faucet while brushing your teeth. turn off the radio whne you're tired of listening and if the crap it croons doesn't sound like music anymore. or have you not heard of noise pollution?

in the community :

scattered garbage is really an eyesore so c'mon, clean your surroundings. segregation of  biodegradable and non- biodegradable trash will be a great idea. gardening and tree planting projects is such a good activity.

in school:

carpool for schoolmates who live in the area would be a help to save gas. nearby school, why not walk?
you can use this daily exercise.
try using your talents in the art club, promote this positive idea to create posters, streamers or flyers dedicated to mother earth.

within yourself:

recycle papers, cards, bags etc. try rechargeable batteries for a change, because batteries that you throw away contain hazardous chemicals that seep into the ground. dispose you garbage properly. use eco-friendly materials.

i can laugh with god today : together let's respect the sanctity of life,
not just ours.

black mamba

the black mamba, kobe bryant had a short visit in manila last week for nike tour and visit his charity outreach for gawad kalinga ( a mini basketball clinic for underpriviledged kids). kobe went to the Gawad Kalinga community to meet with young athletes from GK youth and share them tips on how they can improve their game.

bryant assigned himself the nickname of "Black Mamba", citing a desire for his basketball skills to mimic the snake of that name's ability to "strike with 99% accuracy at maximum speed, in rapid succession.

but he'll be back again on.......23th of july!!! yes, he's definitely coming back to play an exhibiton game at the araneta coliseum with chris paul and tyreke evans.

i can laugh with god today:  gawad kalinga sports typically help  underpriviledged kids academically and socially as well

when the going gets tough

the tough burst laughing?!! lol! think of the last time you laughed. think of the good that belly did for you more than lose body aches. didn't you know it was your much-needed workout? for one thing, laughter's tears eliminate harmful toxins from your body.second, your cardiovascular system is improved by the heart's pumping action, encouraging a healthy exchange of air in your lungs. and experts says that 20 percent of guffawing gives your heart the same workout as 3 minutes of rowing.
however, the advantage lies at your ability to laugh. why, to laugh ?  you don't need a special equipment, clothing or schedule..so, who says that the best thing in life are not free? some of us laugh at a punchline of a joke. but how many are ready to laugh at life's punches?

join with us, laugh with god today =)

pucci pups

i used to love dogs since then but from the rapid growth of dog bite cases, i preferred not to own one because our previous dog bit my grandma that's why i develop the concept to be scared of them. although many advances have been made, rabies remains a neglected, preventable, under-reported, and untreatable disease with the highest case fatality rate of any infectious disease.

i still admire their whining, tail-wiggling behavior that's  why i started collecting pucci pups to  fill-in my longingness to have a live one again.

i can laugh with god today: thank you for such organizations that spreading awareness from rabies.
